Setting the Cutting Height
1. Selecttheheightpositionofthecuttingdeckby
placingthe deckliftleverinany of the sixdifferent
cuttingheightnotchesonthe rightsideof the fender.
2. Adjustthedeckwheels,ifequipped,so thattheyare
betweenl_-inchandY2-inchabovethe groundwhen
thetractorisona smooth,flat surfacesuchasa
driveway.

Stopping the Engine
NOTE:RefertotheTRACTORSET-UPon page8 of
thismanualfor GasolineandOil fill-upinstructions.
1. Insertthe tractorkeyintothe ignitionswitch.
2. PlacethePTO(BladeEngage)leverinthe disen-
gaged(OFF)position.
3. Engagethetractor'sparkingbrake.
4. Activatethechokecontrol.
5. Turnthe ignitionkeyclockwiseto the STARTposi-
tion.Aftertheenginestarts,releasethe key.Itwill
returntotheONposition.
IMPORTANT:DoNOTholdthe keyin the START
positionforlongerthantensecondsat a time. Doingso
maycausedamageto yourengine'selectricstarter.
6. Aftertheenginestarts,deactivatethechokecontrol
andplacethethrottlecontrolinthe FASTposition.

1. If the bladesare engaged,placethe PTO(Blade
Engage)leverinthedisengaged(OFF)position.
2. Turntheignitionkeycounterclockwiseto the STOP
position.
3. Removethe keyfromthe ignitionswitchto prevent
unintendedstarting.
NOTE:DoNOTleavethe chokecontrolonwhileoperat-
ingthetractor.Doingsowill resultina "rich"fuelmixture
andcausetheengineto runpoorly.
