Attaching the Battery Cables
NOTE:Somemodelsareshippedwiththe batterycables
alreadyconnected.
NOTE:Thepositivebatteryterminalis markedPos.(+).
Thenegativebatteryterminalis markedNeg.(-).
• Thepositivecable(heavyredwire) is securedto the
positivebatteryterminal(+)witha hexboltandhex
nutatthefactory.Makecertainthatthe rubberboot
coversthe terminalto helpprotectit fromcorrosion.
• Removethehexboltand hexnut fromthe negative
cable.
• Removetheblackplasticcover,if present,fromthe
negativebatteryterminalandattachthenegative
cable(heavyblackwire)to the negativebattery
terminal(-) withthe bolt andnut.
• Makecertainthehold-downstrapis in positionover
thebattery,securingitin place.SeeFigure1.
NOTE:Ifthe batteryis putinto serviceafterthe date
shownontopofbattery,chargethebatteryas instructed
onpage24ofthis manualpriorto operatingthe tractor.
Gas and Oil Fill-up
Thegasolinetank is locatedunderthe hoodandhasa
capacityof 1-1/2gallons.Donot overfill.
