WARNING
Be sure to shutthe

All beltson yourtractorare subjecttowearand should
be replacedif anysignsof weararepresent.
IMPORTANT:TheV-beltsfoundon yourtractorare
speciallydesignedto engageanddisengagesafely.A
substitute(non-OEM)V-beltcan bedangerousby not
disengagingcompletely.Fora properworkingmachine,
usefactoryapprovedbelts.
Tochangeor replacethe deckbelt andPTObelton your
tractor,proceedasfollows:
1. Lowerthe deckby movingthedecklift leverinto the
bottomnotchonthe rightfender.
2. Removethebelt guardsby removingthe self-tapping
screwsthatfastenthemto the deck.
3. Removethebelt keeperrodfromaroundthe engine
pulley.
4. Inserta 3/8"-driveratchetwrench(settoloosen)into
thesquareholefoundin the idlerbracketonthe left
sideofthedeck'ssurface.SeeFigure26.
5. Grasptheratchet'shandleandpivotit towardthe front
ofthetractorto relievetensiononthe belt.
6. Withbelttensionrelieved,carefullyremovethebelt
from around the left-hand spindlepulley.
IMPORTANT:Carefullyallowthe ratchetto pivotrearward
beforeremovingitfromthesquarehole.
_ WARNING" Avoidthe possibility
of a pinchinginjury. Do not place
your fingers on the idler spring
or between the belt and a pulley
while removing the belt.
7. Removethedeckbelt fromaroundall pulleys,including
thedeckidlerpulley.
8. Routethenewbeltsasshownin andFigure27 and28.
9. Remountthe beltguardsremovedearlier.
