The Smartcard reader (only available on Cameo
SC
models ) is used as follows:
1.A status light indicates the Smartcard reader is
available. At this time, the Cameo is acting only as
a Smartcard reader connected to the host terminal;
all other printer functions are suspended.
2.Insert the card into the reader slot as shown in
Detail “A” above. The microchip imbedded in the
card must be oriented facing the top of the printer
and must be completely inserted into the Reader
Slot to scan successfully .
3.Depending on the application software, the receiv-
ing terminal will sound a beep after a successful
transaction.
4.When the Smartcard indicator light goes out, the
Cameo can resume normal printing operations and
the Smartcard can be removed.
