Itistheidentierofagroupofinterfaces.Theseinterfacesbe-
longtodifferentnodes.Thepacketssenttoananycastaddress
willbetransmittedtoaninterfacewiththisaddressidentier
(selectingthenearestonebycalculatingthedistancebasedon
routingprotocol).
AnIPv6unicastaddresscanberegardedasanentitywithtwo
elds.Oneeldisusedtoidentifynetworksandtheotherisused
toidentifyinterfacesofnodesonthisnetwork.Inthesubsequent
descriptionofthespecicunicastaddresstypes,theuserwillnd
thatthenetworkidentiercanbedividedintoseveralparts,each
ofwhichidentiesdifferentnetworkpart.
