containstheARPfunctionsandrunsovertheInternetControl

bletovariouslink-layerprotocols,andcontainsmorecontents.
�ARPprotocol,ICMPv4routerdiscoverypacketsandICMPv4
redirectionalpacketarebasedonbroadcast,whileNDPneigh-
bordiscoverypacketsarebasedontheefcientmulticastand
unicast.
�Theaccessibilitydetectionismeanttodeterminewhetherthe
hostorrouterrepresentedbythecorrespondingIPaddress
canstillreceiveandsendpackets,towhichIPv4hasnounied
solution.TheNDPdenestheaccessibilitydetectionprocess
toensurethatnoIPpacketwillbesenttoablackhole.
