CHAPTER 27
Maintenance
27.1 Overview
When the Zyxel Device is set to work in cloud mode, the Maintenance screens let you mange shell script
files on the Zyxel Device, generate a diagnostic file, or view log messages.
See Chapter 19 on page 232 for information about shell scripts.
27.1.1 What You Can Do in this Chapter
• The Shell Script screen (Section 27.2 on page 260) stores, names, downloads, and uploads shell script
files.
• The Diagnostics screen (Section 27.3 on page 261) generates a file containing the Zyxel Device’s
configuration and diagnostic information if you need to provide it to customer support during
troubleshooting.
• The Diagnostics > Remote Capture screen (Section 27.4 on page 262) enables remote packet
captures on wired or wireless interfaces through an external packet analyzer.
• The Log > View Log screen (Section 27.5 on page 263) displays the Zyxel Device’s current log
messages when it is disconnected from the NCC.
27.2 Shell Script
Use shell script files to have the Zyxel Device use commands that you specify. Use a text editor to create
the shell script files. They must use a “.zysh” filename extension.
Click Maintenance > Shell Script to open this screen. Use the Shell Script screen to store, name,
download, and upload shell script files. You can store multiple shell script files on the Zyxel Device at the
same time.
