Oven Tests
Microwave Leak Test
The leakage reading must be recorded on the service repair documentation while in the customer’s premises.
Check for radiation leakage after servicing.
Should the leakage be more than 4mW/cm
2
, Contact ACP ComServ. After repairing or replacing any microwave
radiation safety device, keep a written record for future reference, as required by Federal CDRH / FDA / DHHS and
State regulations.
Tools required for test:
600ml glass beaker
Supply of cold water (68°F ± 9°F/ 20°C ±5°C)
Microwave leakage meter
NOTE: Read and understand the following information and the procedure before performing the
measurements.
Make sure the survey meter you are using has been calibrated and is suitable for measuring frequencies of 2,450 MHz.
Leakage meter should initially be set to the highest scale then adjust to lower scales to ensure low readings are
measured on the most sensitive range.
When measuring the leakage, use the probe supplied with the instrument. Always hold the probe at right angles to
the oven and point of measurement.
