AUX DC Output 9 Pin "D" Connector
This connector is used with a 9 pin flat ribbon cable which can be run to
the ACC-48 or a DB-9. The 9 Pin "D" connector located on the left side of the
Delta-88's rear panel can provide low voltage for one of two options which are
programmed in software. The first option will release a low voltage signal when
a particular zone is turned on. One of the 9 pins is for ground and each room
card (1-8) has a pin associated to it. Thus, this port can be used to provide a
signal when a particular zone is turned on to engage a home theater or external
power amp with the zone. The second option requires that this 9 pin "D"
connector be setup in software for source tracking. Again, one of the 9 pins is
for ground and each source (1-8) has a pin associated to it. Thus, this port can
be used to provide a signal when a particular source is turned on to engage AC
to that source. If both zone and source tracking are required, a second 9 pin "D"
connector can be added to the right side of the Delta-88's rear panel to provide
only zone tracking. Then the left side 9 pin "D" connector can be set in software
for source tracking. AUX DC Output options are discussed in upcoming sections.
The ADA Bus
TM
Receptacle
This four-pin plug, which is found on the Delta-88 (and also on the
ACC-3000, PCT-4, PCT-8, and SSD-66{THX}), can be used only in con-
junction with ADA Bus™ components. It provides bidirectional serial
data, which can be received and sent by other ADA components. For
example, if you operate the Delta-88 from an MC-3000 Keypad located in
another room, the display on that control will show the same information
that appears on the Delta-88's L.E.D. display. All of this information is
being transmitted back and forth between the Delta-88 and the keypads
through the serial data connections. The connection of the ADA Bus™
will be discussed in upcoming sections.
AUX DC Trigger (Future Delta-88 Feature - Will Require Software Upgrade When Released
The AUX DC Trigger is an input to the Delta-88 (
not an output). It is designed to provide
an automatic muting of the Delta-88 when it receives a 3-24V AC or DC signal from an outboard
device such as a door bell or telephone. While the low voltage is applied to the Delta-88, the
rooms on the Delta-88 will automatically mute.
