Delta-88 Other Main AC Connections
AC Requirements When Using Additional ADA Bus Components
ADA's Delta System permits expanded operation of a system by including SSD-66 (THX)
Surround Sound Decoders for home theaters were several SSD-66s can be included on any one
system. VS-3 Video Switchers can be included as scrolling input selectors to expand source
switching capabilities of a system. Along with VS-3's, PCT-8s can be used to provide transport
control of the additional video sources switched by the VS-3. Also, there will always be new
ADA Bus™ components that can be added to a system.
Any additional ADA Bus™ Component that has its own AC line cord (i.e. VS-3, SSD-66, & PCT-
8 {for the VS-3's video sources}), must also be switched off with the system's single main AC
power switch. This will permit all ADA Bus™ components to simultaneously re-boot when
the main AC power switch is turned on. As in previous options, this power switch can be on
the ACC-3000 when it is located centrally with the Delta-88s (see this diagram) or it can be the
power switch on the main Delta-88 when no ACC-3000 is used or when the ACC-3000 is in a
location other than that of the Delta-88.
This diagram details how a VS-3 (used to add to the systems source selection capabilities) and
its corresponding PCT-8 are located with the central mainframe. These units are plugged into
a power strip that is plugged into the ACC-3000's Switched "B" AC outlet. Again, as in previous
options, the Delta-88 is also switched by this outlet and is plugged into the power strip along
with the VS-3 and the VS-3's PCT-8. The main audio source's PCT-8 can also be plugged into
this power strip. This diagram also shows how an
SSD-66 Surround Sound Decoder, located in a room
other than the system mainframe's room, is con-
nected to the main AC power switch. As in the
previous two options, an ACC-3 can be used to kill
the power to the SSD-66 when the system needs to be
re-booted. Again, running a two conductor low
voltage wire to a remote location will be signifi-
cantly easier than running a high voltage wire and
thus an ACC-3 is employed. Finally, as illustrated
in this diagram, when the main power switch on the
ACC-3000 is turned off, all ADA Bus™ components
on this system will turn off. When the power switch
is turned on, the entire system will re-boot.
If several sources and subsequently, ACC-3000 and
PCT-8, are located together in a remote room, the
Delta-88's Main Power Switch becomes the system's
reset switch. As in the previous two options, the
Delta-88's Switched AC Outlet is used to provide
power to a power strip, and in turn, provide power
to the remotely located ACC-3s. These ACC-3s will
switch power to the ACC-3000 (if used), PCT-8, and
any other ADA Bus™ component with an AC cord.
