Delta System Wiring
There are several different types of wire and accessories required to install a System Delta.
Depending on your system's configuration they may include:
ADA Bus™ Wire - 3 Conductor 18 Gauge with A stranded shield (90% Braid) cable.
Speaker Wire - Typically 4 conductor wire.
Line Level Wire - Stereo RCA wires.
Composite Video Cable - 75 Cable with RCA connectors.
Low Voltage Wire - 2 Conductor Wire (Zip Cord).
IR Flashers - Mini IR Emitters (For control of sources)
Serial Connectors - For sources with serial control inputs.
AC Extension Cords - For connecting components to AC outlets.
AC Power Strips - Multiple AC Outlets.
AC Step Down Transformers - For Automatic Switching Options
Prior to initiating an installation, it will be helpful to assemble all the required cables, source
control connectors, and AC connectors/extension cords.
ADA Bus™ Wires
The "short-wires" which connect ADA components to the WH-3000 Wire Harness can be
prepared and tested prior to beginning the installation. Make certain that the wires are long
enough to fit your installation layout. While ADA Bus™ connections to the WH-3000 are
actually the last step of an installation, the ADA Bus™ "short-wires" can be connected to each
component as you install the units into the rack. In installations without rear access, this will
be necessary. The connection of the ADA Bus™ "short-wires" to the ADA components is
discussed in "Step I".
All ADA Bus™ components were designed to easily plug into the WH-3000 System Wire
Harness. The beauty in the wiring schematic is that all component ADA Bus™ connections are
identical. Pins 1, 2, 3, & 4 all terminate exactly the same on all ADA Bus™ components. While
ADA does provide the wire from the MT-3000 to the BI-3000, all other ADA Bus™ "short-wires"
need to be provided by the Dealer. In a system with 2 Delta-88s, you will need to prepare a
total of three (7) ADA Bus™ "short-wires" for:
2 For the Delta-88s Delta-88s to WH-3000
1 For the MT-3000 MT-3000's BI-3000 to WH-3000
1 For the PCT-8 PCT-8 to WH-3000
1 For the ACC-3000 ACC-3000 to WH-3000
2 For the SSD-66 SSD-66 to BI-3000, BI-3000 to WH-3000
These wires may vary in length depending on your rack layout. A three conductor 18 gauge
data grade wire with an overall stranded shield must be used. When using ADA Bus™ wire
provided by ADA, the following color code can be used.
Wire Color Termination Function
SHIELD PIN 1 GROUND
BLACK PIN 2 TRANSMIT
WHITE PIN 3 RECEIVE
RED PIN 4 POWER
