Overview

The ADJ Vision Series LED Video Panel is a sophisticated electronic device designed for creating high-quality LED video displays. These panels are engineered for professional use, offering a robust and versatile solution for various video display applications, from temporary event setups to more permanent installations. The series includes models VS2, VS3, and VS5, which share a common design philosophy focused on ease of use, durability, and high performance.

Function Description

The primary function of the Vision Series LED Video Panel is to display high-resolution video content. Each panel is equipped with 3-in-1 RGB SMD2121 LEDs, ensuring vibrant and accurate color reproduction with a brightness suitable for various indoor environments. The different models within the series are distinguished by their pixel pitch, offering flexibility to achieve desired visual fidelity based on viewing distance and application requirements. The panels are designed to be interconnected, allowing users to build large, seamless video walls of various dimensions and configurations.

The core of the panel's operation is its built-in Novastar A5s receiving card, which handles video signal processing and distribution. This integration simplifies the setup process and ensures reliable performance. The panels feature both Power In/Out and Data In/Out connections, enabling daisy-chaining of multiple units for streamlined power and signal management across a large display. This design minimizes the need for extensive individual cabling, making installation and breakdown more efficient.

For larger and more complex video wall setups, ADJ offers full packages that include essential accessories such as video processors, specialized software, and all necessary cabling. These comprehensive solutions are designed to provide users with everything required to get their video display system up and running quickly and efficiently, from content management to display configuration.

Usage Features

The Vision Series LED Video Panels are designed with several features that enhance their usability and flexibility in various professional settings:

  • Modular Design: Each panel is built on a common frame, allowing panels with different pixel pitches (VS2, VS3, VS5) to be used together within the same video wall. This interoperability provides greater design freedom and allows for mixed-resolution displays if needed.
  • Quick and Easy Servicing: The panels feature four individual LED modules that are easily accessible from both the front and rear. This quick-release design facilitates rapid repairs and maintenance, minimizing downtime during events or installations. The power supply unit is also designed for quick release, further simplifying on-the-road servicing.
  • Integrated Corner Protectors: To safeguard against damage during handling and transportation, each panel is equipped with movable integrated corner protectors. These protectors can be rotated out to shield the corners when the panels are not connected and rotated back into their housing pockets to allow for flush fitment with adjacent panels during assembly.
  • Single-User Installation Assistance: Magnets located at the top and bottom of each panel allow for temporary connection between two panels. This feature enables a single user to connect panels, release their grip, and then securely latch them on the rear, significantly simplifying the installation of large video walls.
  • Versatile Assembly Options: The panels support various assembly configurations, including horizontal and vertical panel assembly, rigging bar suspension, flat panel assembly, horizontal truss mounting, and ground stacking.
    • Horizontal and Vertical Locking Mechanisms: Integrated tab-keyed connectors and spring-loaded locking latches allow for secure and precise alignment and connection of panels in both horizontal and vertical orientations. These mechanisms are designed for intuitive operation, with clear "LOCK" and "OPEN" indicators.
    • Rigging Bar Compatibility: The optional VSRB1 Rigging Bar (sold separately) allows up to 20 panels to be suspended vertically from a truss, hoist, or lintel beam. This rigging bar features integrated vertical connectors and tab-keyed sockets for secure attachment to the top panel in a column.
    • Flat Panel Assembly: For larger display designs, the optional VS1RSB Rear Support Bracket (sold separately) can be used to strengthen the structural integrity of the screen, improve consistent flatness, and enhance overall screen continuity.
    • Horizontal Truss Mount: The optional VSR210 Horizontal Truss Mounting Bracket (sold separately) enables horizontal (ceiling) installation of the panels, offering additional flexibility for creative display setups.
    • Ground Stack Option: The optional VSSCSB single panel rigging/ground stack bar provides a free-standing stack mounting option. This base can be loaded with sandbags for stability, allowing for secure ground-stacked video wall configurations.
  • Transportation Solutions: The optional VSFC8 Flight Case (sold separately) is specifically designed to hold eight individual Vision Series LED Video Panels. This robust case features a full foam lining with dedicated slots for each unit, providing complete protection during transport. It is constructed from durable materials like 9mm plywood, steel ball corners, aluminum edging, large swivel castors, professional butterfly latches, and sprung handles.

Maintenance Features

The Vision Series LED Video Panels are designed with maintenance in mind, incorporating features and guidelines to ensure their longevity and optimal performance:

  • Easy Module Removal: The optional VSM111 Magnetic Module Removal Tool (sold separately) allows technicians to safely remove and reinstall any of the four LED modules. This tool minimizes the risk of damage from mishandling or electrostatic discharge (ESD) exposure during servicing. The tool's magnet can be advanced or retracted to securely attach to and detach modules without stressing the LEDs.
  • Safety Cables for Components: All detachable components, including LED modules and power supply covers, are secured with safety cables. This prevents accidental drops and damage during servicing or if a component is inadvertently dislodged.
  • ESD Precautions: The panels are ESD sensitive, and the manual emphasizes the importance of observing ESD precautions (e.g., using ESD gloves, protective clothing, wrist straps) when handling the units, especially when removing them from their flight cases. This helps prevent static electricity buildup that could damage the LEDs.
  • Regular Inspections: The manual stresses the importance of regular maintenance, including checking for loose screws and fasteners, and inspecting all rigging and installation equipment, especially for fixed installations. This proactive approach helps identify and address potential issues before they lead to failures.
  • Proper Storage Guidelines: When not in use for extended periods, it is advised to disconnect the main power to the unit and store the panels in a dry, well-ventilated facility. This helps preserve the components and ensures they remain in proper working condition.
  • Moisture Management: Users are instructed to remove any moisture found inside or outside the panels before dismantling the video installation and returning them to flight cases. Flight cases themselves should be free of moisture, and a fan can be used for drying if necessary. The panels are designed for indoor use with an IP20 rating, and exposure to moisture, condensation, or high humidity should be limited or avoided.
  • Power-Up/Shut-Down Sequence: A critical maintenance guideline involves the correct power-up and shut-down sequence. Users must power up the computer before the LED video panels and turn off the LED video panels before turning off the computer. This prevents high-intensity brightness spikes that could catastrophically damage the LEDs.
  • Qualified Personnel for Service: The manual strongly advises that only qualified and/or certified personnel perform installation, repairs, and maintenance. This ensures that all procedures are carried out correctly and safely, preserving the manufacturer's warranty and preventing personal injury or property damage.
  • Avoidance of Modifications: Any modifications to the panel or its rigging accessories are strictly prohibited, as they will void the warranty and increase the risk of damage or injury. Only original included rigging parts and accessories should be used.
