perform an action, and the right button will scroll through a set of
options. Just one button can be used at a time.
In addition, there is an audible signal that alerts the user to certain status
conditions. One short beep indicates a valid operation has occurred.
Two beeps are a prompt for user intervention, and three beeps indicate
an error condition.
The display panel provides test results, status messages, and error mes-
sages when fault conditions occur.

Power module (Figure 4)
The power module contains the following components: power switch
( | =on, O=off), power cord connector, fuse holder, and fuses.
Printer port (Figure 4)
The printer port allows the use of an external printer. For instructions on
using a printer with this instrument, see “Using a printer with your
instrument” found later in this chapter, and follow the specific instruc-
tions included with the printer

RS-232 port (Figure 4)
The RS-232 port allows connection to an external device, such as a com-
puter. For more detailed information on the RS-232 port, see “Using the
RS-232 port” found later in this chapter.
