17 Storage
WARNING
Risk of accident and injury!
Accidental activation of the e-drive or allowing children
or persons who are physically or mentally impaired to
have access to the e-bike can lead to accidents and
serious injuries.
f Remove the battery before parking/storing your
e-bike for a longer period of time.
f Secure the e-bike and park it in such a way that
unauthorised persons (especially children) cannot
access it.
NOTE
Risk of damage!
Improper storage of the e-drive/e-drive components can
lead to damage and functional impairment.
f Observe the storage temperatures for the e-drive
components.
f Observe the information on storage in the correspon-
ding manufacturer's instructions for the e-drive
(especially for the battery) and for any other e-bike
components.
f Before parking for a longer period of time, remove the
battery and clean the e-bike.
f On e-bikes with derailleur gear systems, shift to the
small chain wheel at the front and the smallest gear
ring at the rear in order to relieve the cables as much as
possible.
f Store the e-bike in a dry room, frost-free and protected
from large temperature differences.
f If the vehicle is to be used for a longer period of
time, fill the tyres with sufficient air (observe the
information on maximum tyre pressure).
f Store the battery, charger and any other components
separately from the e-bike and observe the information
in the relevant manufacturer's instructions.
17.1 Recommissioning
f After a longer period of non-use, check all components
for proper function before putting them back into
operation.
f If damage is found, contact a bicycle dealer for advice
or if you are unsure.
