Using the e-bike
19.2 Check before each ride
WARNING
Risk of accident and injury!
There is an increased risk of injury from material breakage
due to wear caused by use and loose screw connections.
f Check the e-bike/components before riding.
f Only use the e-bike when it is in proper condition.
f Before each journey, check the following components
and rectify any defects found:
f Check the battery charge level, and fully charge
the battery if necessary.
f Check the front and rear wheel brakes.
f Check the gear shift for function and unusual
noises.
f Check the quick release for a tight closure.
f Check the frame, fork and seat post for damage
and wear.
f Check that the screws are tight.
f Check the handlebars and stem for damage and
wear.
f Check the tyres for sufficient pressure, damage
and wear.
f Check the rims and spokes for even spoke
tension, damage and wear.
19.3 Riding the e-bike
Riding
You can ride your e-bike with or without the electric
pedal assist function.
f To ride with electric pedal assist, switch on the drive
system as described in the manufacturer's instructions
for the e-drive.
f Set the desired support level.
f While cycling, change the assistance level if necessary.
Brakes
f Pull the brake lever towards the handlebar grip to brake
the associated wheel.
f Pull the brake lever harder or to the maximum in
order to increase or maximise the braking force
("full braking").
f Pull or release the brake lever less strongly to
reduce the braking force or to stop braking.
Changing the gear
f Change to a higher or lower gear using the gear shift.
