Running System Recovery from CD / DVD
If you are unable to use the main hard drive based System
Recovery you will need to use the Recovery CDs you created
using the Recovery CD Creator software.
If you have installed a brand new hard drive please read the
next page for how to use the CDs.
Important!
Please save all important files and documents to CD, DVD, or
other external device before you begin.
1. Insert Recovery CD 1 into the drive.
2. Now turn off your computer, leave it for a few seconds,
then turn it back on.
3. You will see a message asking you to press R. Press the
R key on your keyboard to load from the CD.
4. After a few minutes the System Recovery menu will load.
You should see the option:
• Non-Destructive System Recovery: The System
Recovery program, in this normal default mode of
operation, recovers factory-shipped applications, drivers
and the operating system without affecting any data files
you may have created since purchasing this PC. Click on
“Next” to continue.
5. Click Next as instructed.
6. You will be asked if you have run System Restore one
last time—click Yes.
7. System Recovery will now start and can take up to 20
minutes. Please change the discs when prompted.
8. When the recovery has finished, click Restart.
