6.4.2 Primary Flushing
The flushing valve is opened. The total flow through the filter increases, debris adhering to the filter
body, pipe walls and filter basket is loosened and is flushed out via the flushing outlet.
6.4.3 Secondary Flushing (Back Flushing)
The flow diverter valve is closed while the flushing valve is still open. The liquid is guided through
the inlet section of the filter basket. The main flow will pass the filter via the main outlet, but part of
the stream will back flush the debris collecting section of the filter basket and be discharged
through the flushing outlet. At the end of the pre-set flushing sequence the flow diverter opens
while the flushing valve closes and the normal operation is resumed.
If the flushing procedure is insufficient, the flushing procedure will repeat. (Only for differential
pressure control system option)
