Test the functionallity of flushing valve and diverter.
a. Ensure correct functionality before continuing
12 Mount the rubber profile by pushing it up to the chamber divider ring and secure it
with the hose clamp.
a. If the rubber profile is not placed against the chamber divider ring, there is a risk of
losing filtration efficiency.
13 Mount the filter end cover, using new PTFE gasket tape.
a. The PTFE gasket tape ensures that the rubber lining does not vulcanise together
b. For ALF 80 use the EPDM gasket.
14 Tighten the bolts & nuts in a diagonal “star pattern”.
a. The rubber lining on the end cover flange could be damaged, if the bolts & nuts are
over tightened and askew.
7.4 Alfa Laval “Combined Shaft Puller and Pusher”
(Optional equipment: ).
A hydraulic special tool can be used to pull out and insert the flow diverter shaft. The special tool is available
in three sizes. The correct size to use depends on the ALF filter type/size. Please contact Alfa Laval
Copenhagen A/S for further information or make a request to your local Alfa Laval representative.
WARNING
Ensure that no unauthorised personal can access the service area while testing
