4. Designate the new trunk ports on the member switch with the
STACKPORT command in the port Interface mode.
5. Remove stacking from the default trunk ports 15/S1 and 16/S2 on the
provisioned master switch with the NO STACKPORT command.
6. Designate the new trunk ports on the provisioned master switch with
the STACKPORT command in the port Interface mode.
7. Save your changes with the WRITE command in the Privilege Exec
mode.
8. Restart the switch with the REBOOT command.
9. Start a new local management session.
10. Verify the changes with the SHOW STACK DETAIL command.
Configuring the
Member Switch -
Part I
Perform the procedure in Table 9 to perform the first part of configuring the
member switch:
Table 9. Configuring the Member Switch - Part I
Step Description and Command
1 Power on the member switch and wait two minutes as it initializes the AlliedWare Plus
management software. Refer to “Powering on a Switch” on page 83.
2 Start a local management session. Refer to “Starting a Local Management Session”
on page 86.
3 Enter the ENABLE command to move from the User Exec mode to the Privileged
Exec mode.
awplus> enable
4 Enter the SHOW VERSION command to display the version number of the
AlliedWare Plus operating software on the member switch. Write down the version
number in the Stacking Worksheet in Table 4 on page 45. After viewing the version
numbers on both switches, compare them to confirm they have the same version.
Switches with different versions will have to be updated.
5 Move to the Global Configuration mode with the CONFIGURE TERMINAL command.
awplus# configure terminal
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
