UPDATING SOFTWARE &
FIRMWARE
4.1 Updating the Windows CE Image
Windows CE updates optimize device operation. Follow the instructions
below to update the Paystation to the latest version of Windows CE.
1. Insert a new SD Card into the laptop and paste the latest Windows CE image
to the root of the drive. Remove the SD card from the laptop when finished.
2. Power ON the Paystation.
3. Plug the debug cable into the laptop and into the iCore board with the black
wire on the left side of J12.

4. Verify the COM port of the debug cable. To verify the COM port, navigate to
Control Panel on the laptop and click Hardware and Sound. Under the
Devices and Printers menu, click Device Manager. Expand the Ports tree
and verify the debug cable is shown.
Note: If the debug cable is not shown, Windows may not have
properly installed the driver. Ensure the driver can be downloaded
automatically by enabling internet access and re-inserting the debug
cable into the laptop.
