7. Click Device Manager.
8. Expand the Ports tree and verify the COM port number assigned to the USB
Serial Port.
9. Once the COM port is found, right click USB Serial Port and select
Properties.
10. Click the Port Settings tab and click Advanced.
11. Change the Latency Timer (msec) to 2. Press OK.
12. Press OK to close the USB Serial Port Properties window.
13. Click the COM Port dropdown and select the COM port of the USB serial
port.
14. Select Browse and select the .bin file used for the upgrade.
15. After the .bin file is selected, press Program.
16. Once the update is finished, the text box of the Firmware Upgrade Tool will
show the current version of REPM firmware.
17. Exit the Firmware Upgrade application.
4.5 Updating the REPM Imager
1. Run the USB Drivers Installer EGFP0607 located on Amano McGann
University.
2. Run the UniversalMenuTool2DVersion_English installer to install the
Universal MenuTool 2D.
3. Power OFF the device and flip dip switches 8, 7, and 6 to the ON position
(downwards).
4. Power ON the Terminal. The Terminal will boot to Windows CE.
5. Start the Universal Menu Tool 2D
6. Remove the scanner’s mini-USB cable from the top of the REPM.
7. Connect the user’s USB to mini-USB cable from the REPM to a PC running
the Universal Menu Tool 2D.
8. Universal Menu Tool 2D should automatically detect the scanner.
Note: If the Universal Menu Tool does not detect the scanner, use the
Port dropdown to select the Opticon device.

9. Click Con/Disc beside the Port dropdown.
