IMPORTANT NOTICE ON BATTERY WARRANTY
The UPM can be used in two different applications:
1. Typical “UPS” Use – used as automatic emergency power
to provide continuous AC power to protect critical systems
from either momentary or extended AC mains power failures
that originate either inside or outside of a building.
2. Portable Power Support – used as a source of AC power to
critical systems on wheeled carts to continue to power a
system while moving from place to place within a building.
NOTE:
• The standard length of the battery warranty (Section 8 of
this manual) is only valid for “Typical UPS” applications.
• In Portable Power Support applications, the length of the
battery warranty is limited to 90 days from the date the
UPM is shipped from AMETEK Powervar.
Difference Explained:
• All batteries loose capacity over time as the internal
materials age.
• When batteries are charged and discharged often, aging
accelerates.
• In Portable Power Support applications where UPMs
are intentionally disconnected and reconnected to AC
mains power several times a day, or week, the useful life
of the battery could be limited to as short as 3-9 months
depending on actual use, and how long the UPM is left
disconnected from AC mains with battery fully or partially
discharged.
Reference the full warranty statement in Section 8, for further
details.
