2.3 Lifting
The Reflector, Back structure and Base (Figure 3-2 and 3-4) are shipped pre-assembled as a unit
(174115). This unit (herein called the Reflector Assembly) is shipped on a Shipping and Support
Stand (174250) which allows it to be picked up and positioned using a fork lift. See Figure 3-2.
Lifting and installation of the reflector assembly must be done carefully as detailed in paragraph
3.3.5, using the Antenna Lift Kit (174245 - Figure 3-7). The Fixed Feeds Unit (174255 - Figure 3-4),
the Base Interface Kit (174198 - See Table 3-5 and Figure 3-3) and the PSR/SSR Interface Mount
(174050 - Figure 3-6) supplied by Andrew, as well as the SSR Antenna (supplied by others) are
installed to the Reflector Assembly prior to lifting the Antenna. The total weight of these
components is 5250 lbs. This weight does not include the site specific antenna counterweights.
Raytheon recommends that only the basic counterweights of 620 lbs. be used for all tilt angles, but
the customer can optionally order and use other counterweight kits.
