Replacing the Polarization and Beamswitch Control Box
WARNING
220 Volts AC is present at the Weather Beam Switch Box
a. Inside the pedestal room set the Emergency Safety Switch to the ‘Off’ position. Attach a Lockout/
Tagout device to Emergency Safety Switch. Set the polarizer switch of the PLCP (Pedestal Local Control
Panel) to the 0 or off position. This will remove 220 Volts AC going to the Polarization and Beamswitch
Control Box.
b. Attach a Lockout device to Emergency Safety Switch and then tag-out both switches..
c. On the Antenna Platform, locate the Antenna Stow Pin and lock the antenna in the stowed position.
d. Locate the existing Polarization and Beamswitch Control Box. Remove existing Weather Proofing
completely from the connectors.
e. Disconnect all cables including the ground cables from the old Control Box. Cable locations are marked
on the Control Box as well on the cables themselves.
