3.3.7 Installing the Polarization and Beamswitch Control Box - Refer to Figure 3-10.
The Polarization and Beamswitch Control Box (174170) is shipped complete with mounting plate
and hardware attached. Simply install in orientation shown on the feed support of the Fixed feeds
Unit.
3.3.8 Installing the AC Junction Box - Refer to Figure 3-10 and Table 3-11.
The AC Junction Box Assembly (174235) is an assembly which also includes the interface cables
between the Polarization and Beamswitch Box (174170) and the Rotary Joint. The designation in the
Electrical Interface Schematic is CA3.
a. Mount the AC Junction I3ox on the inside right-hand side of the reflector base as shown in Fig. 3-10.
b. The weatherproof cover on the box must be removed to gain access to the mounting holes.
c. Secure to reflector base using qty.2 socket head cap screws 1/4-20 x 1.75 lg. with flat washers, lock
washers and nuts (Items 19, 16, 17 and 18).
3.3.9 Adjust the Antenna Azimuth - Adjust the antenna azimuth as follows. Refer to Figure 3-13
a. From the rear of the antenna assembly, manually rotate the antenna assembly in a clockwise direction
(looking down on top of the antenna) so as to sight and align (from the rear of the antenna assembly)
the pointer on the reflector, the pointer under the dual feed support plate, and a third selected
reference point of known azimuth.
b. Follow the instructions of the Pedestal manufacturer to set and register the azimuth angle of the
reference point being sighted.
3.3.10 Installing the Waveguide Runs from the Dual Feed assembly to the Rotary Joint. -
Refer to Figures 3-8 and 3-9 and Table 3-10.
Note: Section 3.3.12.1 describes the Antenna Feed Horn Alignment Check as part of the Final
Readiness Check. This may be performed prior to assembly of waveguide in order to avoid
disassembly of waveguide as described in Section 3.3.12.1 para. (a).
