SECTION 2
2. EQUIPMENT RECEIPT, UNPACKING AND LIFTING
2.1 Receipt
The antenna is shipped in various packing crates plus the antenna reflector assembly. Check
shipment for completeness, checking every item against the packing list.
2.2 Unpacking
All items should be left in their shipping crates and remain covered until they are ready to be installed
on the antenna.
The antenna with the shipping and support stand should be tied down in winds exceeding 10 MPH.
Care must be taken in un-crating and unpacking the antenna equipment so as to avoid damage. The
antenna reflector (Figure 3-1) and its screened contour surface must not be dented or bowed. In
addition, the dual feed assembly on the Fixed Feeds Unit and the waveguide must be handled with
care to avoid denting or mis-aligning. Remove and sort parts from each crate so that they are not lost
and are readily available for subsequent installation. Weights of major items are listed in Table 2-1.
Items included with the Shipping and Support Stand Kit (174250 - Table 3-2, Figure 3-2) and
the Antenna Lift Kit (174245 - Table 3-9, Figure 3-7) are to be returned to Andrew Canada for
re-use.
