Youwillneedasuitablemicrophoneconnectedforthesemodes.
6.1.1 TXSettings
TheTXdrivelevelisavailableonafrontpanelencoder.Itsetsdriveasapercentageoffullpower
available.AdjusttosettherequiredTXpower.
Microphonegainisavailableonthemultifunctionencoder.
1. PresstheMULTIencoderknob;
2. TurntheMULTIencoderuntilMICGainis
showninthestatusbar;
3. PresstheMULTIencoderknobagain;
4. NowturntheMULTIencoderknobtosetthedesiredmicr ophonegain.
ThereisametersettingforMicrophonelevel;setMicGainfor0dBpeaks.
6.1.2 MicrophoneSetup
Beforefirsttransmissionyoumustsetupyourmicrophonelevel.This isveryimportantonfirstuse!
1. Connectasuitablyrateddummyloadtoyourantennaconnector.
2. SettheDriveleveltoarelativelylowpower(say5‐10,meaningapproximately5‐10WofRF)
3. Selectanappropriateaudiomode.BeginwithUSBorLSBdependingonyourband.
4. Connectasuitablemicrophonetoyourradio.
5. SetthemicrophoneconnectionsontheMenu>Setup>Audioform.
6. ResetalloftheTXaudiopathsettingsontheModeSettingsForm(fromtheModeData
button):
a. ClicktheMICbuttontoon
b. ClicktheconsoleVOX,COMP,DEXP,TXEQbuttonstooff
c. Untick20dBMicBoostontheMenu>Setup>Transmitform
d. SelectMicInastheinputonthatsameform
e. UntickCESSBOvershootControlonthesameform
f. TickUsepeakmeterreadingsforTXCOMPandALConthesameform
g. TickAutoSaveTXprofileonTHETISclos eonthesameform
h. TickAuto
saveTXprofileonchangeonthesameform
i. ClickSavebyprofilenameandgiveitanewname:eg“PCHeadset”
