Beauty and
Post-treatment Care
Cata +
The Cata + mode allows you to perform cata-
phoresis treatments. Cataphoresis is a treatment
that is performed after electroepilation.
Ana -
The Ana - mode allows you to perform anaphoresis
treatments. Anaphoresis may be performed before
electroepilation.
NOTE : Before proceeding with any of these treat-
ments, first verify that the electrode handle is
connected to the black terminal of the Apilus xCell
(or that the VitaPhase IM is connected to the Vita-
Phase port on the right side of the unit) and that the
bar electrode (or plate electrode) is connected to
the red terminal. The unit will automatically activate
the appropriate polarity of the electrodes accor-
ding to the selected treatment.
The inactive electrode (bar electrode or plate elec-
trode) must be placed in contact with the client’s
hand or on the skin of the area where you wish to
perform the treatment. The inactive electrode must
have previously been covered by a sponge-like
cover and a wet compress. The sponge-like cover
and compress should be kept moist throughout the
duration of the treatment to ensure proper conduc-
tivity.
The current intensity must then be adjusted accor-
ding to the client’s tolerance level. The table below
suggests a current range to use depending on the
treatment being performed and the area to be trea-
ted.
If necessary, a lotion soaked cotton compress can
be placed on the area to be treated so as to not
apply the active electrode directly onto the skin.
The treatment is performed by gently moving the
electrode over the area for a few minutes. Once the
treatment is complete, the current intensity must be
reduced to zero. The electrodes can then be remo-
ved from the client.
After the electroepilation treatment, if you perform
a negative polarity treatment (anaphoresis), we
recommend that you complete the treatment with a
few minutes of the positive polarity (cataphoresis).
At the end of the treatment, the compress should
be discarded. The electrodes and the sponge-like
cover should be cleaned with a disinfecting solu-
tion prior to being used with a new client.
WARNING: The VitaPhase IM device must be
connected to the right side of the unit (front view).
