Initialize a new card
To create a new smartcard, insert the card into the
slot located on the right side of the device’s front
panel. The Apilus xCell will ask you to associate the
card to an existing customer file and to choose the
number of minutes/rate to record on the smartcard.
Thereafter, the Apilus xCell will print a statement
about the initialized card that has been issued to
the client. Finally, the device will ask if you would
like to start a treatment (which will then debit the
treatment time that was/is remaining on the card).
Debiting time off a card
To debit any time off a card, insert the smartcard
into the reader. The Apilus xCell will inform you
that the card is associated with an existing client
file and ask you if you would like to open the file in
order to charge the time directly to the card. Once
the treatment is complete, you must close the
client file. The unit will print off a statement of the
treatment that was performed and the minutes that
still remain on the customer’s card.
Reloading additional minutes onto a card
When the minutes have expired on a smartcard,
the unit will then notify you and ask if you would like
to reload the card. If you choose to reload it, select
the desired number of minutes/rate to add and a
statement will be printed. If you do not choose to
reload the card, it will then become unusable.
Viewing information on smartcards
To view the statistics on a smartcard inserted into
the card reader or those which have been sold, go
to the smartcard menu as shown on left.
Adding minutes to an existing card
To add minutes to an existing card, which still
contains treatment minutes that have not been
used, go to the smartcard menu and press the
Reload cards icon. Choose the desired number of
minutes/rate to add and a statement will be printed.
DATA BACKUPS,
TRANSFERS AND UPDATES
Thanks to its USB port, the Apilus xCell device
allows for program updates, to backup the device’s
data and to transfer data onto the device.
To do so, you must first insert a USB into the port
located on the left side of the device’s front panel.
Next, press the configuration key. After a short
delay a USB icon will appear at the bottom of the
screen. Press on that icon.
Once in the USB menu, you can now select the
desired option, on left.
Backups
As a precaution, we recommend that you regularly
make a backup of your data (clients, users, confi-
guration) onto a USB drive. This database can then
be saved in your personal computer as needed.
Transfert
The transfer of data from a USB drive into your
device may be useful when encountering pro-
blems. However, prior to transferring any data to
your device, we suggest you contact your dealer or
service center.
WARNING: This operation will replace the clients,
users and configuration databases in the unit by
the ones on the USB key. This action must be done
only if the databases in the unit are corrupted.
Program Updates
To load a new software version onto your USB drive,
go on www.dectro.com/apilusxcell (user: update_
xcell; password: nVzeBJdeUf) and follow the ins-
tructions online or contact your dealer or a Dectro
International authorized service center.
WARNING: As a precaution, always make a bac-
kup of your data on a USB drive before performing a
program update on your device.
