CHECKING AND TOPPING UP (Fig. 56)
◆ Let the engine cool down for a few minutes.
◆ Keep the vehicle in vertical position.
◆ Make sure that the level of the fluid contained in
the expansion tank (see figure) is included be-
tween 1/4th and 3/4ths of the capacity of the ex-
pansion tank itself.
◆ If not, remove the filling plug (see figure).
Be careful not to confuse the oil mixer
tank with the expansion tank.
◆ Top up until the fluid level reaches about 3/4ths of
the expansion tank.
Do not exceed this level, otherwise the
fluid will overflow when the engine is run-
ning.
◆ Put back the plug on the expansion tank.
If it is necessary to top up the coolant too
frequently, contact your aprilia Official
Dealer for a check.
