Why is my Arris Gateway not connecting to the internet?
    • K
      Kenneth AllenJul 26, 2025
It might take more than 30 minutes to establish a connection when you power up your Arris Gateway for the first time, especially when many users are online. Ensure your Arris Data Gateway remains plugged into AC power and connected to the cable system. Check that the Power and Online lights on the front panel are on. If the Power light blinks for more than 30 minutes, contact your cable company. Also, verify that your cable connections are tight and that the coax cable isn't pinched, kinked, or sharply bent. If you have splitters between the Gateway and the CATV outlet, remove them and connect the Gateway directly to the outlet.

Why is my Arris Gateway internet so slow?
    • J
      Jeremy MyersJul 31, 2025
If a popular website is slow, it might be struggling to handle all the requests. If other sites download quickly, wait a few minutes and try again. Connection speed can also be affected by usage during peak hours. Other network communications or wireless interference may also slow down your Arris Gateway connection.

What to do if Arris Gateway wireless internet is not working?
    • R
      rdelgadoAug 5, 2025
First, check the indicator lights. The WiFi light should be on. If it is off, that may be the reason. If you turned off 'Broadcast SSID', you need to manually enter the name of your wireless LAN in the connection utility. As a test, change your security mode to 'disabled'. Enable one of the other security modes as soon as you find the problem. Note that a misconfiguration could lock out all access to the Arris Gateway router.

Why does my Arris Gateway wireless internet keep disconnecting?
    • K
      Kristen BirdAug 11, 2025
This is usually caused by interference from devices like 2.4GHz 'remote' telephones and microwave ovens. If you cannot remove the source of interference, try using a different channel or setting Protected Mode on your Arris Gateway.

    • A
      Ashley LongAug 16, 2025
If you're using a hub, ensure it is turned on. Verify that you are using the correct Ethernet cable. Use the supplied cable for direct connection to a computer; use a cross-over cable for connection to a hub. You can also try pressing the Reset button on the back of the Arris Gateway. Note that a misconfiguration could lock out all access to the Data Gateway router.

What to do if Arris Gateway power light is off?
    • R
      Ricardo HigginsAug 21, 2025
Check all power connections to your Arris Gateway. Is the power cord plugged in firmly at both ends? If you plugged the power cord into a power strip, make sure the strip is switched on. Avoid using an outlet controlled by a wall switch, if possible. Finally, check the fuse or circuit breaker panel.
