www.asdi.com Appendix B Reference Information
B.1.25 How long does it take for the FieldSpec
spectroradiometer to warm up?
The warm-up time of the instrument depends on the environment in which it
is used.
One hour is recommended for radiometric work.
Only 15 minutes is needed for reflectance measurements, particularly if
conserving battery life is desirable.
B.1.26 Where is my serial number?
The serial number is a five (5) digit number located on a label on the rear of
the FieldSpec spectroradiometer where the power switch is. The label also
contains the model number and MAC address for the spectroradiometer.
The serial number is also accessible in the RS
3
and Indico applications from
the splash screen or the Help->About menu item.
B.2 Data Conversion
When using the RS
3
application, ViewSpec can convert spectral data to
ASCII text files.
Conversion can be done one file at a time. Or, several files can be merged into
a single text file, which is a useful feature when inputting data into other
analysis programs.
B.3 Gain and Offset
Gains and offsets are determined during optimization by an optimization
algorithm in the RS
3
application. You can observe this process in the RS
3
application by depressing the OP button on the top right-hand toolbar. The
