4.3.1 Power tools test setup
The test parameters for power tools (divided into 1-Step and 2-Steps tools) can be customized in the Test
Setup menu:
This menu can be accessed by a proper bench administrator password, provided with the test bench
documents delivered with the bench.
First peak measurement
During the tightening stage, the 1-step setup develops a
proportional increase in the torque until the target torque
is reached.
In some cases one or more peaks might occur after the
tool ends the tightening (for example, for tools with a
sliding clutch), as shown in the figure on the right.
Depending on the type of joint and the repetition speed
of these peaks, the recording of the first peak or the
highest peak may be considered most significant. In
order to analyze the precision and repeatability of a tool,
it is advisable to carry out the test in "peak mode" to
measure the effective cut-out of the clutch.
Set the First Peak to ON to enable the first peak
detection; if set to OFF, the maximum torque value
obtained during the test is taken.
