Cut-off frequency (Hz)
The filter frequency is applied to the samples measured by the torque transducer to filter the noise. The
default value is 20 Hz.
Time Out (ms)
This parameter determines the end of the test. When the torque goes under the transducer minimum load
and remains under that value for the given Time out, the test ends. The Time out is given in milliseconds.
Tout (msec) NmAng
This parameter is not used by the BLM 3750
4.2 Testing Impulse Tools
WARNING: Impact tools cannot be tested on the BLM 3750.
Pulse tools do not provide a continuous torque output but they generate single high energy pulse of very
short duration (≈ 1ms). This series of pulses results in the tightening of a fastener. Due to the physics of
the tool the final torque reached cannot be measured directly as with real torque tools. The reason for this
is we have a very high torque but for such a short time that we do not know how much of these peaks
translate into the tightening of the fastener (generating more clamping force). This depends on many
factors, including the bolt mass, friction, and the stiffness of the joint.
