Introduction
Audi drive se lect provides the possib ility to experience different types
of vehicle se tt ings in one ve hicle. For ins t an ce, using t he t hree
COMFORT, AUTO and DYNAMIC modes, the driver can switch from a
sporty to a com fortab le dr iving mode with t he press of a bu tt on .
Add itionally, in ve hicles with MMI*, the veh icle se t up for INDI-
VIDUAL* mo d e can be customized by you. This makes it poss ible to
combi ne sett ings such as a sporty engi ne t uning w it h light st e ering.

Description
The vehicle setup in eac h mode depends on the vehicle's features.
However, the engine and servo t ron ic are always affe cted . The auto -
matic transm issio n*, dynamic steering* and adapt ive dampers * a re
also adju stab le.

Dynamic steering changes the st eer ing rat io as a func t ion of the
dr iving speed in order to optimize the driver's required steering
effor t . This se t s the st eer ing to be less sensi t ive at hig he r speeds in
orde r to provide greate r co ntro l over the ve hicle. At reduced speeds,
however, steering is more direct in o rder to keep the stee ring effort
as min imal as possible whe n the dr ive r is maneuvering t he vehicle. At
low and average speeds, dynam ic steer ing add it iona lly provides more
respo nsive steer ing pe rfo rmance. The dr iver can set the basic
steering rat io characteristics.
The
adaptive dampers use senso rs to recor d info rmat io n regar din g
steering movements, braking and acce lera t ion operations by the
dr iver, road sur face, dr iving speed, and load . This makes it possib le to
adapt damp ing to the driving sit uat ion virt ua lly in real t ime . Audi
dr ive select a lso makes it poss ible to satisfy the desire fo r sporty
suspension (DYNAMIC) and comfortab le sus pension (COMFORT)
without giving up balanced tun ing (AUTO).
