- Pull out and unfold the ski sack .
- Load skis or simi lar objects through the luggage compart-
ment into the interior of the vehicle~ ,& .
Securing ski sack
- Insert the ski sack strap @ ~ page 79, fig. 80 in the
center buckle ® ·
- Pull the safety belt ta ut on the free end of the belt @ .
Stowing ski sack
- Pull the ski sack through the rear backrest to the rear.
- In the passenger compartment, close the ski sack flap.
- Fold the ski sack carefu lly.
& WARNING
• The ski sack is intend ed only for the tran sportation of skis and
oth er light object s. To reduce the risk of serious personal injury
never transport heavy or pointed obje ct s in the ski sack.
• When braking rapidly or during an accident the load could be
displa ced and cause injury to occupant s.
• Sharp edges on the load mu st be covered fo r protection .
Alway s fasten the belt tightly around the sack and it s contents

Never stow the ski sack away if it is wet or damp (for examp le, snow
me lting from skis). Let it dry complete ly befo re you st ow it away. •
Roof rack
Description
Additional cargo con be carried with a roof luggage rock.
If luggage or cargo is to be carried on the roof, you must observe the
following:
• Your vehicle has ae rodynam ic ra in gutters molded into t he roof.
This is why convent ional roof luggage racks cannot be used. We
recommend using roof racks from the Audi orig inal accessories
program .
• These a pproved roof rac ks a re the basis for a comp lete roof rack
system. Add itional attachments for the basic roof rack are necessary
t o safe ly t ranspo rt luggage, bicycles, surf boa rds, skis or sma ll boats.
All necessary hardware for these systems is available at your autho-
rized Audi dealer .
• We recommend that you keep the insta llation instruct ions for
your roof rack system together with you r Owne r's litera t ure in t he
veh icle.
When should the roof rack be removed?
• Before going through an automatic car wash (it is best to ask the
car wash operato r for advice).
• When not in use, to reduce fuel consumpt ion, wind no ise and to
guard against theft.
& WARNING
• Use of an unapproved roof rack or incorrect mounting of an
approved roof rack can cause the roof rack or the items attached
to it to fall off th e roof onto the road.
• Object s falling from th e roof of a vehicle can cause a crash and
personal injury .
• Only mount the system between the markings shown in
