Speed warning 2: setting a speed limit
The radio or MMI* control unit is used to set, change or
delete warning threshold 2.

Speed warning .
Warning thresho ld 2 can be set in the speed range starting from 20
mph to 150 mph (30 km/h to 240 km/h). Settings can each be
adjusted in interva ls of 6 mph (10 km/h). •
Auto Check Control
Introduction
The Auto- Check con t rol monitors the function of certain vehicle
features and compo nents . It simply makes sure these features and
components are work ing properly . The Auto -Check control works as
long as the ignition is on, as well as whenever the vehicle is driven .
If a component is malfunctioning or if the need for an urgent repair
has been de t ected , this will appea r in t he instrument clus t er display.
You will also hear an audible warning tone. The d isp lays are color
coded in e ithe r red or yellow depend ing on t heir level of prior ity.
A red symbol means
Danger , a yellow symbol ind icates Warning . In
certain situations, information message for the driver appear in addi-
tion to the red and ye llow symbo ls .
Func t ion test: automa t ic transmission*
The Auto -Check Contro l will automat ically perform a test each t ime
you sw itch on the ignition . Wit h the selector lever in
P or N, t he
following message appears in the disp lay:
When stationary apply foot brake while selecting gear.
When you a se lect a d ifferen t gear (for exa mple : R, D, etc.) , the
message will disappear and the Auto-Check funct ion is d isplayed .

Dri v er information display
If there is a ma lfunction, then the malfunct ion message will appear
abou t 15 seconds aft er you st a rt t he vehicle. At t he sa me time you
will hear a warning tone. •
Driver information messages
Driver information messages are shown in the instru-
ment cluster display in addition to symbols.

For example, if the transm ission selector lever is not in the P position
when the eng ine is t urned off, the following message appears :
Shift to P, otherwi se ve hicle can roll away. Doors do not lock if
leve r is not in P.
The ignitio n key can only be removed with t he se lector in t his pos i-
tion . This and othe r messages are brought up if a function cannot be
carr ied out.
Driver messages and red symbols
If a red symbol appears in the d isplay, a d river message is also
displayed automatically.
For example, the symbo l for a prob lem with engine oil pressure

appea rs in the display . The message:
Switch off eng ine ! Oil pressu re too low _,.
