- Park assist
•m ___________________ _
Please note that low objects a lready signalled by a warning can disap-
pe ar from t he system 's de t ect io n ra nge and will not co nti nu e to be
signalled .
If the distance to an obstacle remains the same, the volume of the
dis t ance war ning is g radually reduced after abou t 4 seconds.
Approaching another obstacle will result in the distance warning
so unding at t he normal volume aga in.
Malfunctions in the system
If a wa rning tone is aud ible fo r abo ut five seconds when you turn on
the ignition, there is a ma lfunction in the system. Have the prob lem
corrected by your autho rized Audi de al e r.
Keep the sensors in the rear bumper clean and free from ice so t hat
t he a cous t ic pa rk ass ist system can func t ion prope rly.
& WARNING
• Sensors have dead spaces in whi ch objects cannot be dete cted.
Be especially alert for small children and animals , since they are
not alway s detected by the sensors.
• The acoustic parking system is not a substitute fo r the driver's
own caution and alertne ss. Ult imate responsibility alwa ys
rema ins with the drive r dur ing parking and similar maneu vers.
Always watch where you are driving .
• You should alwa ys adjust the volume and frequency of the
warning tone s so that you can easily hear the acoustic distan ce
warning even if the radio is playing, the ai r-conditione r blower is
on High or there is a high level of out side noise.
- Check the setting s whenever anyone else has driven the
vehi cle befor e you .
0 Note
• Remembe r that low obstacles fo r which a war ning has al ready
been issued may "dive" below the system's sensing zone if the vehicle
is be ing backed up closer . In this case, the warn ing so und sh utting off
does
not ind icate that you have cleared the obstacle. Instead, impact
is imm inen t .
• Objects such as tra iler hitches, chains, nar row posts or fences
covered by a th in laye r of pa int may not a lways be detected by the
system . They can still damage your vehicle without warning .
