5. Determine the combined weight of
luggage and cargo being loaded on the
vehicle. That weight may not safely
exceed the available cargo and luggage
load capacity calculated in Step 4.
6. If your vehicle will be towing a trailer,
load from your trailer will be transferred
to your vehicle. Consult this manual to
determine how this reduces the available
cargo and luggage load capacity of your
vehicle.

load rating for a specific tire .

correct tire pressure and driving style .

The original tires on your veh icle have 1/16 inch (1.6 mm) high "wea r
indicators " ~ fig. 208 running across the tread. Depending on the
make, there will be six to eight of them even ly placed around the tire .
Marks on the tire sidewall (for example "TWI" or other symbols) indi-
cate the positions of the tread wear indicators. Worn tires must be
rep laced. Different figures may apply in other countries ~
