Folding the seatback forward
- When you pu ll the release lever @ => page 77, fig. 77 in
the direct ion of the arrow, t he saf et y knob ® pops out f ar
enough for t he red marki ng on kno b to be visible.
Fold t he seatbac k forward .
Raising the seatback
Raise the seatbac k until it is securely latched => &-Whe n
you can no longer see the red mark on the safety knob @ ,
the seat is latched.
& WARNING
• The backrest must always be se curely latched so that the safet y
belt of the center seating position can work properly to help
protect the occupant.
• The seat back must be securely latched so that objects cannot
slide forward out of the luggage compartment during sudden
braking.

Make sure when ra ising the seatback that the rear safety belts are in
the guide so that are not pinched in the seatback lock and damaged . •

Locking the seatback

- Turn the mechanical key => fig. 78 t o the right to lock the
seatbac k.
- Tur n the mechan ical key to the left to
unlock the seatbac k.
The correct ly latched seat back (basic position) can locked and
unloc ked with the mec han ical key next to the release handle. This
prevents any entry from the vehicle interio r into the luggage
compartment .
