PLAT-ALM (Platform Alarms)
The PLAT-ALM is a virtual MO used by the S8700 IP Connect’s MultiVantage
software to keep track of its server alarms. A MAJOR, MINOR, or WARNING
alarm can be logged against this MO to indicate the presence of one or multiple
S8700 server alarms.
A technician who is using the SAT and finds an alarm against the PLAT-ALM MO
must:
1. Log into the server’s Linux shell.
2. To see the server’s current list of alarms, execute the almdisplay
command.
3. To clear the problems, follow the troubleshooting procedures listed there
for “server alarms”.
NOTE:
After repairing the server, use the Linux almclear command to manually
clear every server alarm. This action will also clear any alarms associated
with the PLAT-ALM MO.
