RALM-SVC (Remote Alarm Service)
For the RALM-SVC MO, maintenance software does special periodic testing
every 60 seconds. These tests verify that the standby server’s components are
operating correctly.

Notes:
a. Event ID #1
SME_ARB test failed — This periodic test verifies the Arbiter’s
Remote Alarm Service functionality. The test queries the standby server to
find out whether it can generate alarms. (Both servers must have their own
alarm-generation utilities.) If the test fails three consecutive times, the
following Super alarm is logged:
#1,ACT,SME,A,1,MIN,Far-end alarm service is down
b. Event ID #2
Standby_PN_Check test failed — This periodic test:
1. Queries the standby server about the state of health of its EPNs
2. Compares the acquired information to an administered value
A failure indicates that a mismatch occurred and that the standby server is
out of sync. If this test fails 2 consecutive times, the following Major alarm
is logged:
#1,ACT,SME,A,2,MAJ,Standby Port-Network check failed
