CHECKING AND CHANGING TRANSMISSION FLUID
CHECKING
Pull out the oil dipstick from the top
of the rear axle housing on the left.
Then, wipe it end clean, insert it into
the housing, and pull it out again to
check if the oil level is between the
upper and lower limit marks. If the oil
level is too low, add some new oil so
that the level is within the allowable
range. Also, check for leakage.
Drain transmission uid by removing
the drain plug from the transmission
or rear axle case. Change transmis-
sion uid periodically with proper one
according to the temperature and op-
erating condition.
CHANGING
(1) Oil dipstick (2) Oil Inlet
(1) Rear axle case drain plug
(2) Transmission case drain plug
(3) Oil Inlet
•
Be sure to turn "OFF" the igni-
tion switch to stop the engine
before pulling out the oil dip-
stick.
DANGER
CAUTION
•
Drain oil while it is warm. How-
ever, if it is excessively hot, be
careful of a burn.
•
First 50HR transmission fluid
has to be changed.
