The batteriesareAGM batteries, an absorbedglassmat battery has the electrolyteabsorbedin a ber-glass mat
separator.Whilethesebatteriesareoftencolloquiallycalledsealedlead–acidbatteries,theyalwaysincludeasafety
pressurereliefvalve.Asopposedtovented(alsocalledooded)batteries,aVRLAcannotspillitselectrolyteifitisin-
verted.BecauseAGMVRLAbatteriesusemuchlesselectrolyte(batteryacid)thantraditionallead–acidbatteries,they
are sometimes called an „acid-starved“ design.These batteries are well suited to marine applications.
