Outbound on Front Course for
Procedure Turn to
ILS
Approach
4.
Selecting
103O
as the heading bug
position will cause a
180"
turn toward
the localizer front course. The devia-
tion bar shows pictorially the course
you are to intercept and the angle of
interception. Approach mode
is
se-
lected again and this time
LOC
(front
course) is selected since aircraft
heading to selected course angle is
less
than
105O.
Automatic capture will
now occur to direct the aircraft on the
inbound course.
3.
Prior to the procedure turn, position
heading bug
to
283"
which is the
45O
initial procedure turn heading. At the
point where the procedure turn is to
be initiated engage heading select
mode to turn to the heading bug
(283O).
During the procedure turn out-
bound, the deviation bar shows picto-
rially that the aircraft
is
flying away
from the localizer centerline at a
45O
angle.
