monitors autopilot
operations continuously through
sensors that monitor the aircraft's
attitude and accelerations around
pitch, roll and yaw
axes,
as well as
servo
motor operation. In event of
servo
overcontrol or trim malfunction
the Flight Control System automatical-
ly disables the autopilot by discontin-
uing power to the roll, pitch, yaw and
trim
servos.
In addition, the AP FaiW
Trim annunciator on the aircraft
instrument panel illuminates and an
aural tone warning sounds to alert the
flight crew to the malfunction.
Depending on the nature
of
the
detected failure, the

also is possible for the system to
disable the flight director, autopilot or
electric trim systems without illuminat-
