Base Flowrate Multiplier
For printing with materials other than PLA, you can calibrate the flowrate multipli-
ers of the extruder, in order to achieve the perfect flowrate.
A simple test will help you check the base flowrate of your extruders.
› Heat up both extruders to the printing temperature of the material you
would like to print.
› When the extruders reach the temperature, insert the filament on both
extruders until it reaches the end of the nozzle (make sure that a bit of
material is extruded).
› Measure 300 mm and 400 mm from the upper end of the Teflon tube on
top of the extruder and mark both lengths with a marker. See Fig. 7-7.
› Go to the Control Menu, select T0 as active tool head and extrude 300 mm
with a speed of 100 mm/s.
› If the extrusion ends when the 300 mark reaches the Teflon tube, the ex-
truders flowrate is correct.
› If not, measure the di erence between the expected extrusion length and
the real length and save the correction on the Advanced Menu.
Chap. 6
If, for example, the extruder extrudes 260 mm instead of 300 mm:
300/260 = 1,15. The base flowrate should be increased 15% on the ad-
vanced settings.
