What to do if the fishbox pump out pump on my Blackfin 272CC Boat runs, but does not pump out the fishbox?
    • W
      woodericSep 7, 2025
The drain fitting in the fishbox may be clogged, so clean the fitting. If that doesn't work, the pump may have an air lock; fill the fishbox half full of water, then turn the pump on and off several times to move the air out and prime the pump. Another possibility is that the pump discharge line is clogged, so clean the discharge line.

Why is the Blackfin Boat hydraulic steering slow to respond and erratic?
    • R
      ramossaraAug 22, 2025
The steering system might be low on fluid or have air in it; in this case, fill and bleed the system. Alternatively, a component in the steering system or the engine steering spindle could be binding. Check, adjust, or repair any binding components, and grease the spindle.

Why does my Blackfin 272CC Boat engine suddenly not operate over 2000 RPM?
    • R
      Roger HarrisSep 5, 2025
The engine emergency system may have been activated; find and correct the problem.

Why is my Blackfin 272CC engine alternator not charging properly?
    • W
      Willie EnglishSep 3, 2025
A loose or corroded battery cable can prevent proper charging, so clean and tighten the battery cables. If the issue persists, the battery may be defective, and you should replace it.

What to do if the washdown pump on my Blackfin 272CC runs, but does not pump water?
    • M
      Melissa StoneSep 2, 2025
Check that the thru-hull valve is open. If it is, the in-line sea strainer for the pump may be clogged, so clean the sea strainer.

What to do if the fresh water pump on my Blackfin Boat runs, but will not pump water?
    • J
      Justin BakerSep 1, 2025
First, ensure the water tank is filled. If the tank is full, check the intake hose for damage and replace or repair it if it's sucking air. If the problem persists, the pump may be defective, requiring repair or replacement.
  • B
    Brenda GreenAug 30, 2025
Why is my Blackfin Boat engine running too hot?
    • J
      Jamie RhodesAug 30, 2025
An engine overheating can be caused by a clogged raw water pick up strainer, so clean the pick up. Another cause may be a worn or damaged raw water pump impeller, so repair the pump.

What causes a Blackfin 272CC Boat to vibrate at cruising speeds?
    • S
      Steven BrownAug 29, 2025
Vibration at cruising speeds can be due to several factors: * A propeller or propeller shaft may be bent, requiring repair or replacement of the damaged components. * The running gear could be fouled by marine growth or rope, so clean the running gear. * The engines may not be trimmed properly, so adjust the trim.
  • S
    Stephen LaneAug 27, 2025
What to do if my Blackfin 272CC engine is losing RPM?
    • A
      Abigail BellAug 28, 2025
The engine may have a sticky anti-siphon valve in the fuel line restricting fuel flow, so remove and clean or replace the anti-siphon valve. Also, inspect and replace the remote gasoline fuel filter and the primary fuel filter on the engine if they are dirty. If these steps don't work, the electronic engine control system or the fuel injection system on the engine may be malfunctioning, and you may need to repair these systems.

How to fix unusually hard hydraulic steering on a Blackfin 272CC?
    • B
      Brittney ArmstrongAug 27, 2025
The fuse or circuit breaker for the power steering circuit may have blown or tripped, so replace the fuse or reset the breaker. If that doesn't work, a steering line may be kinked or collapsed, requiring you to replace the damaged line.
