Extraordinary inspection
Hoists have to be checked by an expert after after major changes (Operational safety
order in accordance with BGV D7).
Major changes are for example the increase of the loading capacity,
changes of construction, changes of tensile force of the engine, raising
the lifting height over the manufactor’s settled height, welds on sup-
porting parts.
No major change is in comparison a replacement of identical parts.
The TOPLIFT is has been designed and manufactured to fully comply with:
• EC-Machinery Directive 98/37/EG
• EC-low voltage Directive 2006/95/EG
• EN 12158-2
Attached you find a copy of the EC Declaration of Conformity.
Furthermore each TOPLIFT is tested and checked before delivery.
Returning inspections
Hoists have to be checked, depending on the operation frequency, at least once a
year by an expert.
Experts are persons, who have sufficient knowledge in terms of in
terms of hoists because of their professional training and experiences.
They are confident (familiar) with the guidelines of public safety at
work, guidelines of accident prevention and guidelines according to
the technique (e.g. VDE-Directive, DIN standards), so that they can
judge (access) about the safety conditions of hoists.
The inspections are to be determined by the elevator’s manufacturer. He’s responsible
for the choice of the experts.
Experts could be e.g. maintenance engineers, foremen, customer service technicians
of the manufactory or special qualified personnel.
The manufacturer always has a high responsibility, if he chooses people, working in
his own company, for experts (to be experts).
The results of this inspection are to be recorded in writing and kept. Therefore use the
expert inspections on the following pages.
