5.12 Charging the Refrigeration Circuits (for Units with
Take-Apart Construction Only)
Units with the Take-Apart Construction option are shipped with a
holding charge of nitrogen. Field charging of the refrigeration
circuits is required for these units. Regular units are shipped
already charged.
NOTICE
To avoid the release of refrigerant into the atmosphere, the
refrigerant circuit of this unit must be serviced only by
technicians who meet local, state, and federal proficiency
requirements.
DANGER
Poisonous Gas
Poisonous gas can be created when refrigerant (R454B) is
exposed to open flames.
Follow conventional charging procedures. Also refer to 16.10
Charging Procedures on page #39 for additional precautions.
The amount of refrigerant required for each model is listed in
Table 3.
